Overview
rCoon is a local-first photo organizer for iOS. Your photos are processed entirely on your device. We do not collect, upload, or store any of your photos or personal data on our servers.
Photo Library Access
rCoon requests read access to your photo library to display and analyze your photos on-device. Deletions are performed through Apple's standard Photos API, which asks for your confirmation before any photos are permanently removed. rCoon never copies your photos off your device.
Data Stored on Your Device
All app data (swipe decisions, scan results, preferences) is stored locally in an on-device SQLite database. This data is never transmitted to any server. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
Analytics
We use PostHog to collect anonymized usage events (e.g. screens viewed, features used). These events do not include any photo data, filenames, or personally identifiable information. Analytics help us understand how people use the app so we can improve it.
Error Tracking
We use Sentry to collect crash reports and error logs. These reports include technical information about the error (stack traces, device model, OS version) but never include photo data or personal information.
Subscriptions
Subscriptions are managed through Apple's App Store and RevenueCat. RevenueCat processes purchase validation using an anonymous app user ID. No photo data is shared with RevenueCat. For details on how RevenueCat handles data, see RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
No Accounts, No Cookies, No Cloud Storage
rCoon does not require user accounts, does not use cookies, and does not store any data in the cloud. There is no sign-up, no login, and no server-side data.
Children's Privacy
rCoon is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
